This is a perfect hike for the lake lovers or the ones who do not like to hike steep mountains. Almost always a flat terrain, gives us a relaxation feeling, despite the long hike. Hiking by a turquoise lake, surrounded by green mountains and beautiful chalets, we have this romantic feeling of being in a movie. The nature is stunning.

We start this hike in Bönigen (Interlaken) and we follow a local road, very quiet and with little traffic. Almost 4km by the lake, we can appreciate the beautiful turquoise colour and dream living in one of those chalets, right in front of the lake. After that, we hike a little uphill in the middle of the forest. Possibly we will see some cows eating the fresh grass, while having a beautiful view above the lake. It’s time to arrive in one of the most beautiful villages around Jungfrau Region and enjoy the view with our feet inside the water.

After a small break, we continue hiking beside the lake with a lot of shadow, and our cameras ready to shoot fantastic pictures. Some kilometers later, we arrive in an enormous waterfall. In very snowy winters, the amount of water and the noise of it it’s incredible. It’s time for the second and last uphill to walk by these waterfalls. We can even be behind the waterfall!

There’s a restaurant for the ones who want some snacks or drinks. There’s also a small funicular to bring us down back to the boat station, for the ones who want to save a 15 minutes walk. It’s time to relax and enjoy a 45 minutes ship ride, back to Bönigen. One of them it’s a steamship and you can see some parts of the engine. We finish our day with big smiles and relax, although the long hike.
