This first part of the hike is easy and mostly flat. We start this trail with the glacier (Oberer Gletscher) right in front of us, and then we take on a little uphill trek where we can see rocks, created by the ice that was covering the area many years ago. With the mysterious forest for a company, we hike through a small tunnel with dim lighting, which is truly refreshing on hot summer days.

Right behind us we have a panoramic view of the Grindelwald village and Wetterhorn mountain. A steep but short climb takes us to Pfinstegg, where our efforts will be rewarded with brilliant views. There, we will be able to replenish our strength at the restaurant or have a snack at the barbecue area. Moreover, kids will be able to enjoy the playground, and the adventurous souls will have an opportunity to try out a famous alpine toboggan run or a thrilling fly line.

The rest of the hike winds through the forest, with a small cave in what used to be a marble exploration area. We have a possibility to cross a bridge over the canyon, see huge rock walls and admire the river that takes its water to the lakes in Interlaken.
The finishing point of our hike, the Canyon of Grindelwald, gives you the opportunity to visit the canyon itself, enjoy a snack or offer the kids some time to play in the small playground.
